Hair washing is an important part of everyone’s hair care routine.
Prolonged time of not washing your hair can cause product buildup on the scalp, damaging hair and even impeding its ability to grow.
Washing of hair is very simple but ignorance of small things that impacts the health of scalp and hair creates a hindrance for attaining the healthy and strong hair.
The right way to wash your hair may not sound as crucial, but you'll be surprised to know that most of us make some mistakes while following the process of hair washing. Yes, there are some techniques which can help you wash your hair precisely.
Hair wash tips to wash your hair the right way

Steps for hair washing :-
1. Oil your hair before shampooing : Massage a natural hair oil into your scalp overnight or at least 2 hours prior to a hair wash.
Oiling is very important step as most of the shampoos contain harsh elements that can strip an essential oil from your hair but oiling before hair wash can help to get rid of this problem.
Tip: Avoid combing your hair immediately after applying oil. Combing the hair roughly can cause hair breakage and loss.
2. Before applying shampoo : Soak your hair in the very mild lukewarm water for a minute before applying shampoo.
3. Diluted shampoo : Prefer to use sulphate and paraben free shampoo. Always apply diluted shampoo (by mixing it with water) on the hair, which will lower the concentration. It may contain harsh chemicals and by diluting it you reduce the risk of hair damage, as the direct pouring of shampoo on the scalp can result in unnecessary drying up of the scalp.
4. Head massage : While shampooing, massage your head with your finger in a circular motion from the front to back and the back to the front. Repeat for 2-3 minutes. This helps to stimulate and exfoliate your scalp.
5. Rinse your hair : Rinse your hair completely in the immensely lukewarm water instead of hot water to avoid the rough and dull hair. Lukewarm water helps open the pores on the scalp.
After you shampoo your hair, always make sure to rinse off the shampoo well, as residues of shampoo may make your hair look dull and hair-roots may feel sticky. After that follow with a mild conditioner.
6. Conditioner : Ensure you never apply conditioner directly to your scalp. Also make an even application of the conditioner. After this, wash the conditioner completely as any residue can harm your hair and make it look dull.
Remember that the conditioner needs to sit on your hair for about 2-3 minutes before you rinse it.
7. Rinse your hair with normal water or water at room temperature : If possible, make it a point to remove all of your conditioner by washing your hair with normal water or water at room temperature. Rinsing with normal water helps close the cuticles and seals the moisture in each strand.
Hair Care Tips before and after washing your hair

1. Be careful not to use much shampoo and conditioners, as they contain heavy chemical and constant application to your hair may cause harm.
Hair amount and hair texture are the biggest factors that change how much shampoo you need.
2. Clean your hair from roots to tips. Since it is the scalp which gets dirty, always start cleansing hair from roots and finish up with ending tips of the hair.
3. Never ever rub the hair while washing, as it will tangle your hair.
4. You can wash your hair with normal water or water at room temperature as a final step.
5. Always prefer to dry your hair with soft fabric. Never be harsh while rubbing your hair with a towel, this can cause severe damage to your hair.
You can instead try squeezing out excess water gently or leave your hair to get dry on its own.
6. Avoid using a hair dryer as much as possible. Instead, let your hair get dry out naturally.
7. Apply a light serum to ensure your hair retain the moisture after hair-wash which keeps your hair soft.
8. Never brush your hair when it's wet.
Your hair become more delicate when it's wet, as dry hair are protected by the natural oils which coat each hair strand. Wet hair has zero protection, prone to break easily.
9. Avoid tying your hair up when it’s wet, use wide tooth comb through your pat dry wet hair to remove tangles but start combing your hair from the ends working your way up to the top to avoid hair damage.
10. Trimming your hair every two to three months can significantly reduce split ends and boost your hair growth.
11. Tying your hair in a tight bun or a braid doesn’t let your hair breathe properly. Before going to bed comb your hair thoroughly, remove all the knots and tie them in a loose braid or pony.
Hair care is simple, but important.
Take good care of your hair and don’t forget to stay stylish.
